A blood test that checks for hundreds of inherited conditions. This is one of the easiest things you can do for the health of your future child. There are zero downsides and it could potentially save a lot of heartbreak. Can be partially or totally covered by insurance. Test both parents.

I didn’t choose the ivf life, the ivf life chose me. There is a reason Paris Hilton called ivf one of the hardest things she has ever done. Thankfully I had success in the process and now have complete amnesia about it. I see the bright spots, like getting to see my baby only 6 days after conception (less than 3 weeks gestation), which never would have happened had we conceived unassisted. Also recommend banking embryos for future children made from younger eggs. All my embryos are 34! And I’m turning 38 this year.

non invasive prenatal testing (nipt)

A blood test during the first trimester of pregnancy that tests for chromosomal abnormalities. These are random mutations that can occur. There is no risk of miscarriage. You also get to find out the sex of your baby, if you want. Idk why people turn this down.
