Waterfall Glen Forest Preserve

Short, easy trail walk down to Sawmill Creek where there's a kid sized waterfall and you can walk up the shallow creek as long as you'd like, there's a trail along the creek too for a longer adventure. The best, you can spend a long time there. Plenty of big rocks to stop and eat a snack on.

Kids cover band during daytime hours, they play at a few different venues but we've always gone to Thalia hall a GEM. We've been for talking heads shows, David Bowie, lots of very fun options and a HUGE PARACHUTE at every show.

Yes Agreed with @marissa do not miss Maggie Daley Park! If your kids are bigger, there's rock climing, mim golf and roller skating too. Pack a swimsuit if it's hot out, some good splash pads in there.

Take the water taxi to Chinatown and hit up Ichiban Candy, the best Asian candy store in the city. Get all the hi-chew, lays, Kit Kat flavors of your dreams.

Our favorite Chicago beach with kids. Sandy beach, skyline views, pier to walk out and look at the boat docks, beach shack, solid playground attached, bathrooms, plenty of parking. It has it all.
