The Post-Individual

I really love Yancey Strickler's work (check out my posts on Metalabel and DFOS). The Post-Individual argues that the internet first gave us unprecedented freedom to construct multiple versions of ourselves, but that this very freedom is now pushing us toward a new era where identity, belonging, and power are increasingly organized around online communities and collective selves rather than the autonomous individual. He is arguing we have many selves, and now are often determining which we will present.
