North Face Recon Backpack
•••
I was gifted a light weight but durable North Face backpack after my high school graduation (I think it was the Recon type) and it lasted throughout college. I still use it today! My backpack is older so I can’t speak on what today’s North Face backpack’s are like, but a backpack is a practical graduation/back to school gift. I’d just make sure it has a padded laptop pocket, enough storage space, and the reviews say it can hold a fair amount of textbooks.

Hobbitenango in Antigua, Guatemala
•••
I haven’t been here yet but I’ve always wanted to (if you go here I’ll be so jealous)! It’s been rec’d to me. It’s an eccentric hobbit style park with a restaurant and view.

Cerro de La Cruz in Antigua, Guatemala
•••
Ride a Tuk Tuk to the cross overlook of Antigua. Start near the Antigua market or arch to get a Tuk Tuk if you don’t want to walk up the mountain. You get a great view of the city and volcanos (and sometimes an eruption or smoke).

Church Ruins in Antigua, Guatemala
•••
If you enjoy history or catch yourself wandering around the middle of Antigua, the church ruins are neat. Old churches destroyed by earthquakes, but they still have catacombs and crypts.

Volcano Pacaya Guatemala
•••
A volcano hike! I LOVE Guatemala! There are so many things to do and see; it’s a beautiful country and the people are incredibly welcoming. I have ridden a horse up a volcano, roasted marshmallows, and then hiked down. There are guided tours and I know some people who have done sunrise hikes that have enjoyed that.
