I haven’t seen ANY negative or dissuading comments on Rec League and I hope it stays that way. People on here make recs because they have derived joy or found something that works for them. The user can take on that rec or choose not to. I don’t see any benefit in bashing a rec or disagreeing other than someone necking themselves as some high authority, self centered figure. I’ve even had to check myself before commenting and ask myself “ am i really adding any value by saying this?” People aren’t perfect and recs aren’t perfect and that’s what makes Rec League perfect.

Give sub 4.5 star restaurants a chance

Shamefully enough, I used to filter to only 4.5 and above. Then I lived life a little. I’ve met people who love to complain and naysay. I’ve been to restaurants with incredible food where a language barrier led to slight misunderstandings. I’ve even found myself not enjoying a movie until a second watch. I’m not saying don’t read reviews — just don’t be so binary about it. You could be scrolling right past your next favorite restaurant.

Sometimes while I’m driving around NJ, I try my darnest to imagine it as another suburb in Japan —- Truly, I think no matter where you are, you can tilt your head just enough to say “ omg it kinda does look like japan”

Visit shooting locations of movies and tv shows

Recently took a trip to Rockport and Gloucester to watch the Widow’s Bay finale — and we did not regret the 4 hr drive at all! 2 weeks later watched Mermaids (1990) and noticed… same location! Trips don’t need to be centered around the film locations, but I think adding a small pit stop here and there adds a smidge of excitement and perhaps allows one to step in the shoes of a location manager! Attached picture shows exactly where Tom Loftis held his inaugural swim and ran into a certain hag
