Ok maybe this is a hot take but I only hike in Chacos and it’s way better cause then you can walk in any streams and your toes don’t get jammed into your shoes when you’re going downhill.

I know, you do get some looks! I’ve worn them at Rainier on a glacier (in the middle of summer) and they worked great.
