I’m purging closets right now and I am very conflicted about what to keep. I have a bunch of amazing coats that I’ve collected over the years but that I now rarely wear. I’m tempted to consign them all and start fresh with clothes I actually will wear. But I have a daughter who looooves clothes and when she’s older she may want them? Going through my mom and grandma’s closets and finding treasures was so fun! How do you decide???

Put them in storage, and return later: This doesn't have to be a storage unit you exactly pay for, but in a place out of sight, at least. I had numerous dresses, sweaters, and more in storage for three years until I got them back, and it felt like each parcel of clothing held a weird bite of my soul. Find a safe place to get them out of sight, and return to them when you're ready.
