I couldn’t quite get myself to use buttermilk, and don’t have flaxseed, but this is sublime. Gets very close to the goodness of a Date Shake from somewhere in the Coachella valley. Would be good with cocoa powder or peanut butter added. Don’t skip the salt!

An absolute unit of a frozen treat. Dates, bananas, milk, other magical things. It’s worth tracking down if you’re in the Coachella valley. You’ll order one to share with your traveling partner and then a few sips in get sad that you have to share. Their dates are delicious, too, for purchasing and taking home. Date shakes made at home also slap, as the kids say, but not quite as hard as one of these while you’re in LQ.
