Found a copy in the $2 bin at the used bookstore. I was somehow never assigned a Toni Morrison book in high school and I’m almost glad it came to me as an adult. It’s ghostly, sad, and desperate and reminds us that it’s impossible to fathom the scale of the horror of American slavery.

“That escalated quickly” in book form. If you like the smutty dragon books but wish they were written in 1796 by a horned out 20 year old who clearly has a major beef with the Catholic Church, this one is for you. No actual dragons though.
