Wupatki National Monument

A gem! Just north of Flagstaff, enter via the Wupatki National Monument sign instead of driving through the longer Sunset Crater route. Two (!!) ball courts, multiple pueblos (some you can squeeze from room to room) and you can see Monument Valley from the top of the main Pueblo’s viewpoint. Go on a cloudy day for the best experience since the sun can be intense.

Low Desert Iced Tea

The bad news: it’s 111 out. The good news? You can brew a liter of The Republic of Tea Hibiscus Sangria Iced Tea. Fill a glass with ice, mix tea with a squeeze of RE’AL Prickly Pear Infused Syrup. Optional: A few dropperfulls of Dram Palo Santo herbal bitters and a handful of fresh summer fruit. It is ruby red and so refreshing, even when the desert decides to burn your face off.

Adobo boullion is nuts!

Better than boullion comes in an adobo flavor that ups any weeknight game. You throw together shredded beef tacos or burritos that taste like you have been slow cooking red chile all day. Picked it up at the Co-op in Tucson. Serve with guacamole made only with sweet onion, lime, salt and avocado. Trust.
