Botox for TMJ is the best

TMJ solutions? I am desperate. Do I try Botox at long last???

This by far has been the top solution for pain and tightness out of so many and I mean maaaaany other options, over the years I’ve tried - braces, massages, acupuncture, exercises, specialized training tools, mouth guards and on and on. For the last 4 years, I’ve been getting 20 units in each side, I started with re-upping it ever 6 months in the first 2 years and now can go as long as a full year of feeling the relief and effect of it, it truly was a life changing decision. And tbh I’m not mad about a slight chin area “snatch” and lift 🤭 Highly recommend!

Jumping in to say my partner found a reputable doctor for me as I was just so overwhelmed by the idea of figuring this out. It was miraculous… and I’ve been told maintaining it will compound results, but I don’t want to shell out four times a year…

It was recommended to me by my dentist but they didn’t offer it at the practice, so I went on a deep dive of finding best possible nurse practitioner who had raving reviews from many and especially people I already knew who have been her patients ( she is in Toronto, not sure where you are located). And even though tmj treatment isn’t her sole specialty, after thoroughly discussing it she tailored the treatment for my specific needs knowing that it was not for aesthetic purposes and more for medical needs and so far I have no plans stopping my yearly top-ups. I really hope you can give this a chance and that there is a possibility it could significantly lessen your overall discomfort like it did for me :) let me know if you have any other questions, I’m happy to help!

It’s true. I tried everything, including going to a top doc for tmj at Mass General hospital. Ive done a ton of physical therapy but nothing helped me like Botox. I got it once and it’s lasted two years but it’s starting to wear off. Careful, it’s a very slippery slope though. They’ll try to inject whatever is remaining of the vial and upsell you along the way. But it really does help immensely, so it’s worth the weird transactional part of it.
