These books are thick & girthy (pun intended) and I'm not mad at that. I loved being submerged in this world. WHAT'S THE HOOK: Dreamy himbo 'golden retriever' hockey dudes with the filthiest dirty talk (and I do mean that in a good way) fall first and come on hard (again pun intended) for snarky, funny, leading ladies who rival the likes of A Different World's Whitley and Gilmore Girls' Lorelei. BUT ALSO: Grab a tissue box because yes, the sex and banter are plentiful and hot (like menopause hot flashes hot - steamy from the inside out), there are woven throughout sweet and tender and vulnerable moments in each book's storyline. Is it fine literature? No. Ann Patchett and Tayari Jones and RF Kuang and others have that covered. This is dreamy, steamy romance meant to make you swoon without having to work hard for the pay-off. I loved this series. I don't do chili-peppers for spice level because I think grownups should be able to handle the words "cock" or "anal beads" without running for the holy water. Relax. It's just sex, y'all. It's just fake sex in a book. What I will say is these books are full of open-door sex scenes and Becka Mack is a master at delivering them. More please!!!!
