Volunteer with animals!!
•••
I volunteer at a local animal shelter, and I recommend it highly! I am lucky enough to play with the shelter dogs and take them for walks. The puppies I get to take for walks are such sweeties, and it’s a great way to get some fresh air and activity for both me and the dogs. Even if you are an animal lover but a bit nervous around unfamiliar dogs or cats, I also recommend inquiring about alternative roles at your local shelter. The shelter I volunteer at has volunteer roles for laundry, cleaning, and feeding the animals. Volunteering at the shelter makes me feel useful and happy that I can make a dog’s stay at the shelter a little better- I also feel like part of a community. P.S. The lovely dog pictured is my own, not a dog I volunteer with :)
