Mushrooms and an easy hike with your little brother
•••
So what if he’s a full grown man with a mortgage, he’s still your little brother. Take snacks, climb a tree, look at all the spiderwebs, pet the dogs, get the giggles, just don’t be suspicious.

Keep it Kaimuki!
•••
Faves in the neighborhood include: Mud Hen Water (local, seasonal, delicious) The Curb (coffee and wine - including a very chill and cool wine bar night on Fridays) Island Boy (shopping) Koko Head Cafe (known for their brunch but the dinner slaps and is easier to get into) Nana Ai Katsu (take one of their bento boxes to the beach)

The Beer Farmers (Pemberton, BC)

Stop at One Mile Lake for a swim or paddle on your way from Whistler. Miller’s Fries does a standout burger and fries in the brewery’s adjacent trailer. Wash it down with a rose-hibiscus sour — and don’t forget to buy a flat of local strawberries and a dozen eggs from the taproom while you’re at it. And OMFG the views! And there is a herd of highland cows. AND, in August, there is a sunflower maze — yes, it’s exactly what it sounds like. 🌻💛

Monopoli (Italy)
•••
Stayed in Monopoli as a home base for exploring Puglia and loved it. No major tourist attractions (like Alberobello or Polignano) there so it feels like a real/normal town a lot of the time. La Tradizione del Formaggio is a must visit.
