Love this metaphor and resonates so much. I learned to liken my grief to having a rock in my pocket. Sometimes it’s so heavy and feels impossible to carry, other times I can’t feel it all. I might take it out and look at it, examine it, be curious about it, or maybe show another person. But it’s always there.
