I always keep a mini Clif bar and a mini Chomps on the wide outer pocket of my purse (thieves, stay back). In NY, bodegas saved me, and in LA, I refuse to be stuck in traffic with my blood sugar crashing. The last straw was finding myself feeling weak at a commercial callback for like Purina dog food and having to ask the women around me (upscale casual, natural and approachable women of color 26-38) if anyone had any snacks on them. A kind soul gave me some cheez-its.

The most LA thing that has happened to me is I drink one of these every time before I drink alcohol and I think that they work but you can never be sure. I swear my morning-afters have been smoother since drinking these. They don't taste bad and even though they're expensive it's less than the cost of a cocktail so I count it as the price I pay for wanting to imbibe. The most embarrassing part of them is taking one out at the restaurant and reassuring the waiter I'm not secretly chugging mini-bar vodka.

When I had a baby I needed a bigger bag for work/life but refused to get a diaper bag. After much searching for totes online scrutinizing measurements- I need it to fit my laptop- I got a Celine Seau Sangle on Japanese ebay. They're discontinued so you can find them pretty discounted. The four outer pockets and a bag organizer inside? You wouldn't believe how much I can schlep.
