this feels simultaneously obvious and also impossible. think of things that help you in real life when problem solving.
like to-do lists? try asking your therapist for some tasks/homework between sessions!
don’t like homework? tell them you don’t want homework!
I was nervous to do this, so my meds doctor recommended that I blame her for my critique of the current process. That way I could say “hey my psych says I do well with honest feedback and tasks, so she told me to tell you..” -worked like a charm and I didn’t feel bad about it. Just had the most productive session in months.
I know therapists say they want feedback, but that doesn’t make it any easier to give it! Just pretend it wasn’t your idea! It’s awesome.
