Yes we’ve all heard of tuba club but go old school and further towards cap Croisette to this classic spot. A reservation gets you a coveted parking spot deeper in Les Goudes but it’s still a ten minute walk/hike/don’t wear heels. Order the catch of the day, have a spritz. You can rent a « transat » or you can walk up and over the rocks to the little beach and swim for free!

Tucked in a hidden cove in Les Goudes, a mostly locals only beach hangout spot with exactly what you want: a tiny cafe serving stellar moules frites and octopus salad and rose. We get there with kids before the crowds at 10:30am and let the kids wade around and collect sea glass and have the best day ever.

This is never not my first stop in Marseille. A 4 story generations old hardware store that sells everything from classic olive oil soap, pots and pans, vintage kids toys to blockprinted sheets, brooms and everything you’d need to wire a lamp. Perfection.
