The Odyssey
•••
I read The Odyssey (Emily Wilson translation) to prepare myself for the film …and it is wonderful! Warning - if you read the book it will spoil the movie for you - not because it gives away the ending - but because the story is so delicious you’ll be disappointed by Nolan’s interpretation, particularly his representative of women. There is a reason it has survived and delighted for thousands of years.
