That draft year was a QB named Brock Purdy, who was deemed too short and not strong enough to be a Pro QB, but john lynch drafted him anyway. albeit last. In 2022, us 9er fans thought our season (lives?) were over when we lost QB1 AND QB2 to injury and watched in horror as our QB3, mr irrelevant, ran onto the field mid-game.

…Brock Purdy goes 25/37 and throws 2 touchdowns, winning the game. He beats the idol of his childhood Tom Brady in the next. He is currently on pace to hold the all time passer rating in the NFL, not to mention gone to the super bowl. He’s still considered to be good, not great. But you have to love a story about a guy COMPLETELY discounted by the entire establishment. These things don’t happen every day. This was a miracle and I watched it in real time.
