REFERENCE I spent most of my allowance at the bookstore. Being a (double) Gemini I would take ages to choose each book. My Dad was eternally patient. 13 of LA's independent bookstores are hosting a weekend of events. It's a must do - to support the independents and find something new to read and spark your curiosity. This event is made for me. Don't come with me if you don't have any patience though.

REFERENCE Italia Segreta feels like a portal to all the things I love about Italy — its traditions, food, design, places and wonderfully particular way of living life. Italy has had a hold on me ever since I spent a semester living in Siena. I minored in Italian in college and a small (not so small really) part of me is always planning my next trip back. Their recent newsletter, Summer in Italy Sounds Like a Movie, is exactly what my non-European summer vacation self needs to daydream away. I dare you not to want to book a flight to Italy.

I love Martha's voice, her writing, and the way she thinks about what it means to live a wealthy life—not necessarily one defined by money, but by intention. Her philosophy of "WWe don’t restrict. We decide." has stayed with me. A must read: Just Do The Thing. Do It Scared It's thoughtful, practical and motivating.
