Chickpea Harissa Soup Recipe
•••
So easy and satisfying. The optional celery, olives, and herbs are mandatory as far as I’m concerned.

Slow-Roasted Sweet Potatoes
•••
The world’s greatest sweet potato. At Thanksgiving, I’ll slice these open and fill with mini marshmallows before a quick broil. The rest of the year, the slow roast makes these so good they don’t need any topping at all.

Chicken in Milk (Jamie Oliver)
•••
This was the very first roast chicken recipe I ever tried and is still a favorite. I taught myself to cook and was intimidated by roast chicken at first because I was always worried I would dry it out. This recipe makes dry chicken impossible and leaves you with the most fantastic sauce. Definitely serve with bread or something else to sop all of that sauce up with.

Oven-Roasted Frozen Broccoli
•••
Perfect roasted broccoli straight from the frozen bag with no need to thaw first. Doesn’t even need the parm tbh. Go wild with whatever spices you like or a flavored oil. This is my ride or die “I need a green thing and I don’t want to work for it” recipe.

Socca
•••
I screenshotted this from instagram 4 years ago, and alas! No clue who to credit for this perfect socca recipe! I have made this more times than I can count at this point and wish I could thank whoever wrote it. I also occasionally like to swap the rosemary for curry powder.

Middle-School Tacos Recipe
•••
The first time I made these was because I hated them growing up and had a weird desire to revisit and make a version I would actually enjoy. I had never seen my husband so excited - he said he felt like it was his birthday. Noted, my guy! Sometimes nostalgia wins and simple is best. Now more frequently on the menu.

Smitten Kitchen Ginger Fried Rice
•••
I haven’t directly followed this recipe in years, but credit it with first teaching me how to make fried rice. Now I go wild with whatever is in my fridge.

One-Pot Beans, Greens and Grains Recipe
•••
Endlessly riff-able! I like to chop and sauté an onion in the pot (plus any other veg I need to use up) before adding the grains and liquid. Also adding a spoon of Better Than Bouillon or using broth instead of water adds a ton of flavor. A splash of vinegar and hot sauce at the end is also excellent.

Best Carrot Cake Recipe

Cake person. Specifically carrot cake. More specifically: Dorie’s carrot cake. This is the cake I will make if I love you.
