if you're feeling sinister (belle and sebastian)

An all-timer, probably still makes my top-5 take-to-a-desert-island-with-you albums. Just perfect.

Way back in the day I somehow lucked into seeing what I believe (I think?) was their first ever US show, at the CMJ music conference in New York in 1997 (I was a music director at my college radio station at the time, one of the perks of which was getting to go to CMJ). Which was a fantastic show, the part that I remember best being that they had some bit in the middle that gave the bass player an excuse to start playing the bass line from "Billie Jean," which at first just seemed like a little joke, but then someone up there started moonwalking, and then they launched into an amazing full-on band B&S cover of the song.
