The Artist's Way (Julia Cameron)
•••
this is not a creative rec because so many people have done this book BUT if you are one of the people who’s almost finished it, i highly recommend. i’ve done it about 7-8 times and each time something so cool happens to me. i can’t recommend it enough even if all you ever do is take yourself on artist’s dates or do daily morning pages.

The Calamity Club (Kathryn Stockett)
•••
i know this book is long BUT i have never cared more about two characters in a book than in this one. i loved the help when it came out but this is more dynamic, thoughtful and truly intoxicating. i would re-read this even. is that insane?

Heart the Lover (Lily King)
•••
i read lily’s prior book, writers and lovers, before this one and really liked her tone. sort of sad and melancholic but with humor. this book is better than that one and will have you finishing it in 2 days.

The Correspondent: A Novel (Virginia Evans)
•••
everyone is telling you to read this book and it’s for a reason. zero hype, pure beautiful writing. clever and a little thrilling at some points but mostly beautiful and moving.
