And I mean a once or twice in a lifetime party. I just had my second wedding (a year and a half after the ceremony) and we went ALL OUT. We had a square dance, roasted a pig, invited everyone we know and love, got dressed up, and served an ice cream sundae bar. It was ridiculously fun! I 100% recommend throwing the party of your dreams, no matter the occasion.

Thank you to those who recommended this on Rec League! As someone who often wonders (and asks my partner) "Are you mad at me?" I could not recommend this book enough. I listened to it and then started re-listening as soon as it was over. Meg Josephson does a fantastic job describing how the "fawn response" operates in daily life and easily takes over a person's inner world. Her discussions on boundaries, mindfulness, and self-compassion land in a way that sticks. Enjoy!
