Beta Blockers

For me, I know that I am a smart and capable person who is able to answer things and in a thoughtful manner, but my anxiety was getting in my way enough that a beta blocker was the answer. My anxiety manifests very physically, so I would get shaky and short of breath and sweaty, which would distract me during an interview. Taking a blocker eased the physical symptoms so that I was able to concentrate.

We have one mouth and two ears for a reason. Repeat what you hear them say so they feel heard and know you understand. If it’s the first interview, don’t ask about time off or other things that benefit you that don’t have to do with the job. Also, bring a pen and paper and write down important things. If you’re anxious you’ll probably forget what they’ve said and you don’t want to ask them to tell you twice.
