I’m really much more of a nonfiction fan and rarely love a character driven novel but this is worth every hint of hype. I still think about this book almost monthly. It has such a sense of place and time and culture.

Ooh yes! I liked Jack but didn’t like Lila as much as I hoped I would.

This is my favorite book. I buy it every time I see it in a used bookstore. I have also listened to the audiobook, and fiction audiobooks are not my thing. But this one is like Reverend Ames telling a story directly to me.
