Rec League Art Student Grant

Rec League is offering a grant for students in art and art history to reflect on the ideas and influences that inform their academic work.

Creative practice is shaped by sustained habits of attention and accumulation: the texts one returns to, the places that hold meaning, the films, images, sounds, and ideas that build up over time into a body of influence. Rec League is a space to catalog and share what you're collecting, whether gathered through deliberate research or pure inspiration. This grant is an invitation to make those connections visible.

To apply:

  1. Download the Rec League app
  2. Create a Rec League that reflects what informs your work, including books, films, music, places, recipes, images, people, or anything else shaping your practice
  1. Send us your name, your Rec League handle, and your school on this form.

Award:

3 participants will receive $3,000 based on clarity, originality, and strong sense of voice

Eligibility:

  • Open to undergraduate and graduate students in art or art history
  • U.S. based

Deadline: June 1, 2026

Purpose:

Rec League is a place for cataloging and sharing what inspires and excites you. It draws artists, writers, and other creative people engaged in an ongoing process of looking, collecting, and connecting ideas. This grant invites students to map what shapes their work.
