don’t offer choices you can't honor

Integrity is one of my five core values, and this is exactly why. It's so easy to breach trust with others, not to mention your future self, and it's hard to regain. As a bonus, this forces me to slow down and think about whether I have the capacity to say yes to things before I actually agree.

we all do this at least once and learn the hard way because our words temporarily mean a little less and it sucks. and we often do the same thing to ourselves when we say something enough times without real intention to follow through (“i’ll rest after this,” “i’ll start monday”) we kinda quietly stop believing ourselves. so let’s only put it on the table if we meannnn it love u. that’s how we build self trust :)
