Trash bags for hanging clothes
•••
Wrapping trash bags around your hanging clothes is a simple way to protect and consolidate clothing for your move. Learned this hack years ago and have been doing it for every move since!

Non-attachment as a moving practice
•••
Tomorrow I’m moving (perpetually but at least nomadically until fall) and I think about this Christopher Wool painting whenever I move. Traveling light, selling or donating whatever you can, and storing only a little has saved me a lot of stress. A practice of non-attachment or at least light attachment is my moving advice to myself and everyone else. Release. ✨ Wishing you a low stress and pleasure filled journey 🌿

books in tote bags
•••
if you’re moving across town, books in tote bags is the way to do it! you can fit so many books in a tote bag and it makes it so easy to move multiple at once and pack them in around other boxes in the car. if you’re going cross-country or you’re planning to mail some stuff, USPS media mail is your savior. super cheap and convenient, have used it many many times and love

FRAKTA Storage bag
$5
•••
A game changer! These bags are massive and can be either be carried like a duffel bag or backpack. I recommend getting the version that has the zipper too. They are fairly heavy duty and can be stored flat and folded when not being used. I’ve used my blue bags for trips, storage, and moving, but I know other people use theirs for other things. I think I have knock-offs and they work fine.

Understanding cost of utilities
•••
I'm currently gearing up to move this summer, and one thing I'm currently scoping out is how much I may be paying for utilities on a monthly basis. It's all estimates right now, but finding resources and hearing from other renters in my area has been helping to get an idea of cost!
