truly truly incredible spot. mark is so kind, knowledgeable, and an all around great guy who makes wonderfully fresh and inventive food even better. one of the best meals i have had recently. literally could not stop going “mmm” the entire time.

new yoga/pilates studio co-founded my one of my all time fav silver springs teachers, emmie. they are still building out their larger space, but the studio is open air and tucked away with a mountain view. the whole experience feels pretty magical. if you find yourself in ojai and are craving a little movement that makes you feel good, abode is the place for you.

writing this while drinking an orange vanilla latte. lived in the neighborhood when this place opened and it still totally holds up. the cutest little spot and full of folks sitting outside chatting. highly recommend stopping in if you find yourself in the area.

since i was a child i have wanted to swim in this pool, and one day, i will get in there and it will be the best day of my life. i know the indoor pool is the more classic pick, but hearst castle is all about being outside! lounging in the san simeon sun and taking some dips constitutes a near perfect day. just as william randolph intended.

the tippety easy to the tippety west of la! highly highly recommend getting a group of friends together and hitting the streets. it’s such a fun way to really experience the city and a cool thing to say that you have done. any city is walkable if you just walk.

incredibly beautiful basics that are polished, but unfussy. they describe them as “effortless and enduring wardrobe foundations,” so perfect for an important work event, but deeply wearable in your real life. you can book an apt to see the collection in their studio that feels just as special as the pieces themselves (granted i’m biased it was done by @Talia who i work with!)

did a truly lovely tour here! learned so much about the life of of my favorite architects, got to see incredible design and spend the afternoon in an incredibly designed space. in my book, a near perfect afternoon. highly recommend stopping by for the open house or booking a private tour!

my mom started this after a spinal fusion and severe back pain and swears by it, and so do i. it’s all about balance and musculoskeletal function and it works. less of a workout, but more of a functional tool that let’s you be able to do workouts that make you feel strong. it’s a lot of kind of weird and specific movements, but if i’m hurting or feeling out of whack, there is nothing better.

great gas station pick up if you’re looking for a little fun. i’ll buy one if i’m feeling particularly lucky and it has become a tradition to get one everytime to snag one while getting gas on a roadtrip. never win much, but the joy of scratching is the real reward.

i don’t even know where to begin. i love springs. i love the instructors and staff (they are angels), i love the studio, i love the sweat. it is a place that truly makes me look forward to my workouts and helps me clear my head. i have laughed, cried, and done some really hard things in the confines of the studio. it is such a special place and always feel lucky to be there. the music is great, the space is beautiful, clearly i could go on for days! if anyone wants to join me and experience the magic for themselves, i have some free guest passes :)
