“In 1996, I was 14, and my Ouija board-obsessed besties and I fell in love with this film. It’s about a group of teen misfit girls who wield their powers against anyone who crosses them. Watching it now, as a 44-year-old woman with a daughter on the cusp of teenhood, I see its flaws — but I still appreciate its attempt to tackle real issues and its depiction of teenage girls' desire for agency and acceptance. Plus, the clothes! ‘90s goth fashion will always reign supreme!
Listen to the soundtrack to conjure ‘90s witchy vibes.”
