“Tech barons get their billions from our clicks, swipes, likes, sends, searches, saves and purchases. The less you use Amazon, Google and Facebook, the less power they wield. Two years ago I quit Amazon and went back to shopping at IRL stores and independent online shops. (Also saved a bunch of money, waste and clutter.) Deleted Chrome, IG and Google Maps. Sold the Tesla. Twitter was a gimme. I’m moving email to Proton. Is it less convenient? Yes. But society has been paying a huge price for convenience.”
