“A silly and sweet rom-com with fun ‘80s vibes and music, a funny supporting cast, and great chemistry between Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore. Nothing profound, but endearing nonetheless.”

“I am an Adam Sandler hater. I have never seen Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore, or any of the weird vacation movies he makes with David Spade and those of that ilk. I don't find his brand of mumbling man-boy enjoyable, I didn't think "Punch Drunk Love" was as impressive as everyone else did, and I think he is the sort of person who must be such an incredible hang that everyone has sort of collectively agreed to ignore that he is perfectly average at everything that he does, including fashion. HAVING SAID ALL OF THAT, "The Wedding Singer" is a nearly perfect film. It's short, charming, and (minus a few dated and cruel "jokes") totally hilarious. It also has an incredible soundtrack. Is it possible that this redeems Adam Sandler? Personally, I find it more likely that he sustained some sort of head injury prior to signing on to this film that awakened a clever, charming, kind of hot?? part of him that had previously been unaccessed. After the film, he was bonked again, bringing him back to his previous self. But we'll always have "The Wedding Singer," Adam, and thank you for that.”
