“This song might very well be my favorite. A Moody Blues-esque siren of longing; “Kill My World” from 70s Aussie psych-pop band Autumn deserves your heartache. It opens with a startling orchestral moment, akin to the soundtrack for Franco Zeffirelli’s 1968 Romeo and Juliet. The song is then recast into a folk rock ballad with a chorus that tears me apart every time: stop, stop, stop you kill my world. A haunting vocal echoed, and even amplified, by a refrain of melancholy horns. As the final chorus slips away, and you’re plunged back into the orchestral music from before, you feel as though you've happened upon a strange and beautiful secret. Highly recommend a solo listen under the stars on a clear night.”
