“Wagyu beef for a burger is unnecessary and somewhat outrageous, but oh so good.
Other recs for the Big Island: snorkeling at Mauna Lani (you don’t have to be a guest there to access the beach) and Captain Cook Monument (the hike is completely and totally worth it but try to time your walk back uphill from the shore with a cooler portion of the day), roadside bakery stands (an insanely good one right near Pu'uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park had some coffee brownies I still think about) and fruit stands, Kimura Lauhala, Manago Restaurant, Foodland for poke and really anything, Hilo Farmer’s Market vendors (I especially loved the crafts there).”
