“Amateur Photographer’s Gavin Stoker argues most shooters don’t need RAW anymore. Modern cameras nail exposure and color well enough in-camera that JPEG holds up nearly all the time, and RAW is more habit than necessity for casual shooting. My take: fair for everyday shooting, but paid work or tricky lighting still benefits from RAW’s editing latitude. Worth a read if you’ve been shooting RAW out of habit rather than need.”
