“I'm a sucker for a fictional movie about making movies - I love movies!! and I love movie sets and seeing the behind the scenes and how crazy it is for any movie to succeed to even exist in the first place and this delightfully whimsical Tom DiCillo movie is a wonderful wild ride. A lot of my favorite movies are my dad's favorite movies - and he has wonderful taste. When he digs a director, he devours everything they've ever been involved with. Tom DiCillo makes (and writes) really fantastic movies that take place in the real world but there is ALWAYS something that feels slightly unreal / magical realism about them even if not overt. Sometimes when you watch stuff you can tell that the people who made it really loved doing so and have a love for the craft and this is absolutely one of those <3 Usually available for free on Tubi”
