Flag of Haarlem

“Haarlem's flag is really just its coat of arms, which celebrates its legendary 1218 military victory during the Crusades. The red to honor the blood shed, the sword a symbol of military valor, the white Jerusalem Cross granted by the Pope during the same crusade and the Six-pointed stars awarded by religious leaders who were present during the crusades. All of that is well and good but it doesn't change much about my feelings on the flag's design. It's beautiful and frankly, badass.”
