Spironolactone

“First disclaimer I am obviously NOT a doctor or offering medical advice. BUT. I have struggled with acne for years, and was on birth control for half my life (literally) for a multitude of reasons. It also, of course, controlled my acne very well. I have been off BC for over two years, and the comedown from that has been very tough on my skin. I decided to bite the bullet and ask my doc for Spironolactone in June, and I've never been more pleased. My skin has calmed down SO much. My level of active "underground" pimples has basically turned to zero. I am honestly kind of shocked. I had spots that would one zit, then it'd go away, and 3 more would come. Making it impossible to even think about ever targeting the remaining dark spots themselves and it just became a vicious cycle. I still get spots, of course, but they're far more manageable. If you're struggling, I'd say give it a shot. I've not adverse side effects, everyone is different. And most importantly, you cannot take it while pregnant.”
