Natalie BevilacquaFirst to rec“A husband and wife go to a house near the sea to improve the wife's mental condition, but she finds something strange about the wallpaper. This is probably the most recommended short story ever, but am I going to recommend it again, not least because it features the greatest use of the word creep in the English language. Knocks me out every time!”

AMB“I can remember having to read a few gothic short stories for English class (*ahem* Edgar Allan Poe) but for some reason we never read The Yellow Wallpaper. So a few years ago I took it upon myself to read it and it turns out I was blown away. I could write much more about The Yellow Wallpaper here, but in an attempt to be succinct, I’d recommend it. It is short so you can finish it in one sitting. (my runner up favorite short story is The Landlady by Roald Dahl)”
