“In 2019 when my now husband and I moved into our first long term apartment I decided I wanted to be a plant person. My house growing up never had indoor plants so I didn’t have any generational knowledge on the subject but I was desperate for the vibes. One of the first plants I acquired was a monstera. Now, all these years later I have two massive monstera in my home and people always comment on how lovely they are and how they wish they could take care of plants. To that I always say “YOU CAN!”. I find monstera to be some of the easiest plants to grow and keep happy. I water them thoroughly once every two weeks (that’s not hard) and I keep them in a spot that gets light but not direct sun (that’s probably like most of your house— so that’s not hard). I just got a Thai celestial monstera at Trader Joe’s this week for 15$ and I can’t wait to see it grown into a beast that takes up half my living room. I reallllyyyy want a giant monstera but I don’t think I have the ceiling and window heights for it boooooo. Anyways, get one, I promise you don’t need a green thumb.”
