Freaks and Geeks

“White Lotus S4 is a long way away. So rewatch Freaks and Geeks—if not for the heart and nostalgia, then for Linda Cardellini’s aspirational hairstyle and wardrobe inspiration.”

“The show that made me care about shows”

“the cool thing about having a terrible memory is I get to go back and watch this like it’s the first time every time”

“Another show that is perfect and begs the question “why do all the best shows never make it past the first 1-3 seasons?””

“‘Tell your brother he has a beautiful body’ Is there any show that better captured the awkwardness of being a teen and trying to fit in while also still being your own person?”

“Insane that there was only one season of this. Incredible.”

“i know it’s old and weird but i’ve always wanted this highschool experience of shitty funny teenhood”

“When F&G was cancelled, I wrote a letter to the network asking them to change their mind. NBC sent me a “thanks for reaching out!” postcard, but surprisingly did not renew the show.”

“Society just wasn’t ready for this one in 1999! I watch this often and wonder what it could have been had it not been prematurely cancelled. But I also think that’s kind of what makes it so perfect.”

“A perfect show.”

“It’ll make you laugh AND feel. I always remember Bill having his after school snack on the tv tray, and Millie playing the piano at the party. The show captures teen years in a way that even if you didn’t share those same experiences, you knew the feelings. One season, a moment in time.”

“Who doesn’t have a crush on Lindsay Weir?”

“Never not laughing when Bill has his picture taken. Martin Starr is the starriest of stars here.”

“It’s a sin there was only one season of this show. So authentic to the 1980 time period with no cliches. Bonus: the music is fantastic!”
