“Such a fun 80's movie! I remember watching this almost every day for a whole summer! Directed by the wonderful Julien Temple (famous for the Sex Pistols' The Great Rock N Roll Swindle ), we follow Val (Geena Davis), whose philandering doctor fiancee breaks her heart and as she tries to catch some rays poolside, a spaceship crash lands in the pool right in front of her! Val meets the three hairy aliens (Jeff Goldblum, Damon Wayans, and Jim Carrey) inside the craft and befriends them but quickly realizes they need a new look. With the help of her chum (a bubbly beautician babe named Candy), the aliens get makeovers and try to assimilate to life in San Fernando Valley! (Be sure not to miss Val's fever dream sequence. Beautifully done.) A good time with fashion and music fans of Romy and Michele will adore!”
