“I didn’t want to get got by this interview of one of Iran’s ex-presidents, so I went and read all 900 pages of this book. Incredibly prescient for something written in 1840. A must read for any newly minted immigrant like myself or to celebrate America’s 250th grounded in well-researched introspection. I have other thoughts about the writer, especially regarding his support for the colonization of Algeria. But those are thoughts for another time.”
