“Another Criterion 24/7 Selection: I never would have popped this on myself. Two cousins, one from the country, the other a rich city kid living together while in law school. Beautifully shot, with so many wonderful frames, held on screen. Entertaining and funny, it’s an enjoyable watch and a great example of early French New Wave. The female characters are woefully underdeveloped, but it’s not a movie I’ll take seriously enough to be offended by it.”
