Spines, Flicks, and WaxFirst to rec“DAY 16 I love that the new Carrie series (helmed by horror god Mike Flanagan) premiered during Spooky Season because I always associate the movie with Halloween. Growing up, Carrie always seemed to play on TV (I wanna say TNT?)on Halloween, typically after school. The film was like a pregame before trick-or-treating, playing in our kitchen with the sun still shining as I carved a pumpkin and/or scarfed down dinner. Despite being more of a spring horror flick, it is now engraved in my mind as a Halloween must, one to watch while the early birds start swinging by the house to trick-or-treat. If you haven't seen the movie in a hot minute, revisit it this Spooky Season, see if it fits your Halloween aesthetic ;) (Side note: I was today years old when I found out that Carrie's scary ass looking Jesus statue is actually Saint Sebastian...still creepy af)”
