The Group is a phenomonal, whip-smart and intensely readable chronicle of female graduates from Vassar College in 1933 making their way in the Big City post-graduation. Their conversations, and the situations they find themselves in, are eerily similar to those we face today. Funny, sad, and everything in between, anyone interested in girls on the precipice of womenhood (in a world that is hostile to such a transition) must read this Mary McCarthy masterpiece.”
