Nescafé Café de Olla

“During the pandemic I ordered a huge box of Nescafé in assorted flavors from Mexico. I'm just getting to the end of my last jar now. I don't drink it everyday and I know that a lot of people consider it low rent to drink instant coffee. But Nescafe always reminds me of being in my early 20s, traveling to Paris on the back end of every European business trip, staying in the cheap tiny hotels I could afford in the Latin Quarter, and using the Nescafé packets and electric kettle in the room to make coffee and look out the window, thrilled that I had time to explore my favorite city even if I didn't have a lot of money with which to do it. I'm 50 now but I can still taste that feeling. Life is nice sometimes.”
