“LOVELY nearly car free Greek island that just a 1-1.5hr ferry from Athens. It is mostly Greek people vacationing (very few other tourists) and 80% of the island is pine forest - there are great hikes, secret swimming coves, and amazing local cuisine. Fun fact I love is the name means "fishing hook" in Greek, supposedly because visitors were so enthralled by the island’s beauty that they got "hooked" and never left.
I stayed at the Agistri Club Hotel (https://agistriclub.com/), which was so homey and felt like staying with family - The owner picked us up at the ferry and had lunch with us upon arrival. No frills but gorg views and clean / comfy”
